A married headmaster who was seen on CCTV having $3x with a female colleague in his office during the school day, while three of his employees were allegedly raped while he was absent, has avoided a teaching ban.

Adam Price, now 40, and the lady both str!pped naked to “engage in $3xual activities” in his office for over four hours, according to the teaching watchdog.

Three teachers were attacked and four fights broke out among students at Wolverhampton’s understaffed Northern House School while the couple was absent in January 2020.

Their terrible behavior and secret affair were revealed a month later after anonymous letters were received to the school’s pupil referral unit, prompting Mr Price to retire in disgrace.

But despite watchdogs rejecting his request to avoid being named and disgraced, he avoided a teaching suspension today and will be permitted to continue in his new employment as a senior education consultant.

From April 2017 until his suspension and resignation in February 2020, Mr. Price served as the executive headteacher of the Northern House School Academy Trust.

Mr. Price was sent to the TRA on February 20, 2020, according to Duncan Tilley, who presided over the hearing for the Teaching Regulation Agency in Coventry.

“It was said that the School had received two anonymous letters that questioned the actions of Mr. Price and another employee, Person B, as well as the nature of their connection.

“One of those letters asked what they had been doing in Mr. Price’s office throughout the day when students and other staff members were present.

“A review of the CCTV footage from January 27, 2020, was conducted, and it was found that Mr. Price and Person B had been having sex in Mr. Price’s office on that day.”

Mr. Price resigned right away after receiving a notice of suspension on February 14, 2020.

Mr. Tilley added, “Mr. Price admitted that on January 27, 2020, he and Person B spent the most of the working day—roughly three and a half hours—together in his office.

“During this time, Mr. Price admitted that he and Person B had $3xual relations and that they occasionally went without clothing.

“The panel was informed that there had been three assaults on staff members and four different student conflicts on the day in issue.

The recommendation document also noted that three employees who typically worked in the school were absent on that particular day. Person B, as a result, sought additional coverage and postponed one employee’s planned off-site training.

By failing to disclose a personal relationship with Person B, Mr. Price also acknowledged violating Northern House School’s “Relationships at Work” Policy.

The TRA, however, advised against a teaching restriction because Mr. Price had a positive teaching background and had contributed significantly to the field by working with difficult students.

The panel took note of Mr. Price’s understanding of his misbehavior and its effects, Mr. Tilly continued. He expressed regret, which the panel felt was sincere.

The panel came to the conclusion that there was little chance of repeat because of the terrible effects that his actions had on him and his family.
