British Hollywood Actor Denies Sexual Assault Allegations Made By Massage Therapist

An unnamed British actor has denied sexual assault allegations made by a massage therapist, following a report over the weekend.

It was recently reported by The Sunday Times that a married Hollywood star, who remained anonymous, had been quizzed under caution last month by Scotland Yard about the alleged attack, which was said to have happened after a routine appointment.

Now, in a statement provided to PA, a spokesman for the actor said on Monday he ‘categorically denies’ any wrongdoing. He added: ‘Our client is aware of the allegations made. ‘Our client categorically denies any unlawful conduct.

He is co-operating fully with authorities.’ However due to the ongoing investigation, the spokesman added that his client could not comment any further. The Sunday Times reported that the alleged assault was said to have happened after an appointment at the actor’s place of work in London last autumn, with the star accused of groping the therapist’s bottom and rubbing himself against her.

The woman – who had reportedly provided the actor with regular massages for several months and claimed the pair had developed a friendship and exchanged ‘flirtatious’ texts – told the paper that the incident had left her ‘frozen’ with shock, her head ‘spinning’ and feeling degraded. Claiming the actor was ‘aloof’ the day of the alleged incident, the woman said he ‘tried to kiss her ‘ before she began the treatment, while also asking her to ‘focus on his groin area’, which she refused.

Following the alleged incident, she later sought emergency counselling. She alleged that the actor had tried to kiss her before a massage, then after the treatment had grabbed her waist while he was wearing an untied dressing gown.

The woman said she reported the matter to police on 30 January after conversations with family, friends and professional counsellors. In a statement to the publication the Metropolitan Police said: ‘On January 30, police were made aware of an allegation of sexual assault… A man has been interviewed under caution in relation to the investigation. Inquiries continue
