Stjepan Hauser, known mononymously as HAUSER, is a Croatian cellist born in Pula on June 15, 1986, into a musical family. He achieved global recognition as one half of the duo 2Cellos before launching a successful solo career, known for his genre-defying performances that blend classical, pop, and rock. He has performed in over 40 countries, appeared on major television programs, and collaborated with numerous artists.

Early Life and Education

  • Family and Early Interest:Hauser was born into a musical family and began his musical education by playing the cello at age eight, after a “life-changing moment” hearing the instrument on the radio. 
  • Formal Training:He completed secondary school in Rijeka and studied in Zagreb, Croatia, before moving to the United Kingdom to study under Natalia Pavlutskaya at Trinity College of Music in London. He then pursued postgraduate studies with Ralph Kirshbaum at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and also studied with Bernard Greenhouse in the USA.
