Nkechi Ene (1969-2025), fondly known as “Pastor Kech,” was a prominent Nigerian full-time minister, speaker, and author, best known as the presiding pastor of The Carpenter’s Church in Port Harcourt and the host of the popular, award-winning Christian television program Freshdew.
Life and Career
- Background: Born in Accra, Ghana, on February 24, 1969, she spent her early years in Lagos, Nigeria. She held a first-class honors degree in electronics engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and initially worked in the oil industry before transitioning to full-time ministry.
- Ministry: Ene served as an associate pastor to Pastor Charles Omofomah until his death in 2013, when she became the presiding pastor of The Carpenter’s Church. She was also the President and Director of the School of Ekklesia: School of Local Church.
- Freshdew TV Program: For over 27 years, she hosted Freshdew, a 30-minute inspirational TV program that aired globally on various platforms, making her a household name in many parts of Nigeria and beyond.
