Prince Chinedu “Ned” Munir Nwoko is a Nigerian lawyer, politician, and philanthropist who is currently serving as the senator for the Delta North senatorial district

. He is known for his successful legal career in the UK, his involvement in Nigerian politics, his philanthropy, and his high-profile family life. 

Ned Nwoko, born on December 21, 1960, is from the Nwoko Royal Family in Idumuje-Ugboko, Delta State. He is a polygamist with multiple wives and children, most notably married to actress Regina Daniels, his sixth wife. They have two sons. Through the Prince Ned Nwoko Foundation, he supports youth empowerment and education and contributed to road rehabilitation. 

Education

Nwoko pursued higher education in the UK after completing his primary and secondary education in Nigeria. He earned a BA (Hons) in Law and History from the University of Keele, an LLM in Maritime and Commercial Law from King’s College, London, was called to the English bar at Lincoln’s Inn, and qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales. 

Legal and political career

Nwoko started his legal career with the Crown Prosecution Service in England before establishing his own firm and was named the “Best Black Lawyer of African Descent in England” in 1995. He played a key role in recovering over $20 billion in overpaid debts for Nigeria through the London and Paris Club Loans refund. Returning to Nigeria in 1998, he served in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003. In 2023, he was elected senator for Delta North and later joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2025. As a senator, he has focused on bills and motions related to economic growth, social welfare, government reforms, and issues like the Asaba Massacre reparations. 

Other ventures and projects

Nwoko’s endeavors include the Ned Nwoko Foundation, which champions a malaria eradication project in Africa. He also founded the Sports University in Idumuje Ugboko and Mount Ned Nwoko, a tourism destination in Delta State.

Personal life

  • Family: Nwoko is a polygamist with multiple wives and children.
  • Regina Daniels: His high-profile marriage to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has been a subject of significant media attention.
  • Marital issues: In late 2025, news broke regarding marital problems between Nwoko and Daniels. Nwoko publicly accused Daniels of drug and alcohol abuse, stating that it was the cause of their issues, while Daniels had earlier accused him of domestic violence.
